Good Morning, Bluefins!

As we get rolling with the 2023 Bluefin Season, it is time to start asking for some very specific jobs to be filled:

-STROKE & TURN JUDGE-

Ideally, we would like to have 4-5 people sign up to be Stroke & Turn judges as we have to provide judges for each meet and it's always helpful to have backups in case of illness or vacation. You do not have to have any swimming experience to be a stroke and turn judge. There is an online training that you must take and will receive a certificate at the end that allows you to sign up as a stoke and turn during swim meets. We cannot have meets without Stroke & Turn Judges, so we have made that job worth 2 points each time you sign up. You CANNOT sign up for that job without a valid certificate. Training needs to be completed by June 17th (time trials). Please let me know if you are interested and I’ll send you the sign up link.

-TEAM REP TRAINEE(S)-

This year will be my last as the Team Rep for the Woodbridge Valley Bluefins. I have a job that makes it really hard to give 100% to the team rep position because of overlapping timelines and the effort it takes to manage both things at the same time. It’s time for me to start training my replacement. We need one or two people who would be willing to take over the position of team rep to step up and learn along side myself and Toni (previous team rep and awesome source of knowledge). Please let me know if you are interested, I’m happy to answer any questions you have. I have saved EVERYTHING so hopefully it’ll be easier for you to take over at the end of the season.

-THIS WEEK: JUNE 5th-8th-

Afternoon practices continue this week. Times can be found on the SwimTopia website. The Parent Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7th @ 5:00 pm at the pool (raindate: Thursday, June 8th @ 5:00 pm). I will share information about the season and answer any questions about being a part of the Bluefins. We will meet by the picnic tables and loungers. Please try to have at least one parent attend. If you can’t attend, I will send out all the information from the meeting via email.

Committees:  If you have signed up for a committee, I will be sending emails later today to connect you with the others who have volunteered for the same committees. If you are still interested in signing up for a committee, please fill out THIS FORM.
