What to Bring

During your typical summer swim meet, you'll be outside on the pool deck for about three or four hours. Some things to help you and your family get through the morning are:

Pop-Up Tents

If you have your own, feel free to bring it with you. Otherwise, there are plenty of families who would be happy to share their shelter with you.

Folding Chairs

We move most of the deck chairs out of the way during meets, so be sure to bring comfy camp chairs with you.

Sunblock

You and your swimmers will need plenty of sunblock, even on those cloudy days. As much as you might be under a tent, you'll be out and about on the pool deck, as well. Remember that the reflection of the sun off the pool water magnifies its impact!

Food and Drink

It's always helpful to have lots of water and snacks laying around during the meet. The athletes will get hungry and thirsty after each of their events, and so will you. If you don't feel like bringing your own food and drinks, you can always visit the Concession Stand. For that, you'll need...

Cash

It always happens... You talk to your children ahead of time, plan out their snacks, and then during the meet, they say, "Can I please have a dollar for a snack?" The Concession Stands at each meet have you covered. And by all means -- shop away! It's part of our fund-raising plan!

Swim Gear

This part should be pretty obvious, but just to be on the safe side...

  • Towels
  • Team (or equivalent) bathing suit
  • Swim cap (bring two, just in case)
  • Googles (bring two, just in case)
  • Swim cover-up/Sweats/Towel Pants (it can be COLD at the start of meets)

Sharpie

If you don't already know how to mark up your child's arm for their events, take a moment to learn how to read the heat sheets.

Your Phone and/or Camera

You'll want to get some photos or videos of your swimmer. Please remember that CMSL regulations prohibit the use of phones and any photography or videography equipment behind the starting blocks. Also, be sure to download the SwimTopia app to keep up with the official meet results (as applicable).
