Good Morning, Bluefins!

We made it! The 2023 Woodbridge Valley Bluefin season is now officially OVER! I hope you and your swimmers enjoyed the season and left with a better understanding of swim strokes and competition, teamwork, and goals, and have created many lifelong memories and new friends. It has been my pleasure serving as your team rep these last two years and I know that Elizabeth Cottrell and Marlenda Dillenbeck will do an amazing job next year as your co-team reps.

Now, on to some end-of-season housekeeping:

Divisionals Results - Attached. We had a great meet and the Bluefins earned lots of trophies and ribbons. If you didn’t attend the party last night and your swimmer placed 1st-8th in any of their events, their awards are at the pool.

Other awards: Each first-year swimmer on the team received a medal to commemorate their first season with the Bluefins. EVERY swimmer on the team received a 2023 pin. If you did not attend the party last night, please check your folder in the mailbox for the medal and see Lydia at the guard office for the pin. **All families should check their folders for ribbons before the end of the pool season. Anything left in the folders will be thrown out at the end of the season.

Thanks: Last night I shared my thanks for a few people and since some of them weren’t there, I’d like to share my thanks again.

• The Coaches- thank you for a fun season and for helping the kids challenge themselves and support each other as a team.
• Toni Vandewinckel for all your knowledge, support, and computer skills.
• Elizabeth Cottrell and Marlena Dillenbeck for helping out this season and taking on the helm of team reps next year.
• Kristy Wiggins for running a great concession stand during our home meets.
• Samantha Wilson for picking up awards and helping set up the party.
• All the Parents for volunteering, supporting our team/swimmers, and your patience with all my emails.

Pool News:

• Adult Swim Night is August 5th, 8:00-11:00 pm. NO KIDS ALLOWED. Buy tickets on the pool website HERE.
• The End of Summer Luau is September 3rd, 1:00-4:00 pm
• Board positions will be opening up. General Membership Meeting is Sept 11th, 7:30 - 9:00 pm at the pool. If you'd like to see what the board is working on for the future of the pool and would like to contribute to the plans, please be sure to attend.
• Registration for the 2024 season opens April 1, 2024. Mark your calendar!
